    Kiana

    Kiana

Kiana was a fun and interesting passenger. She seemed very diligent and was working several different jobs. One of her positions was that of a babysitter. She said that children just love her and that they often cry when she leaves. Kiana described herself as a "caregiver". She enjoys working with the elderly, the young, and the fury!!! Her name has both Irish and Hawaiian origins and can mean "peace keeper, calm water, island princess, and God's grace". Although you can't se
    Daylin and Chandel

    Daylin and Chandel

Rececently I picked up three passengers...two young ladies and a young man. Daylin had requested the trip and her name caught my attention right away. She is from Cuba and told me that her name meant "a blacksmith with supernatural powers". Interesting! Her friend also had a unique name, Chandel (pronounced Shan-del). She was from the country of Suriname in South America. When I asked her to tell me something interesting about her country, she immediately answered, "The most
    Fitzroy and Melayna

    Fitzroy and Melayna

Fitzroy (AKA Fitzroyalty) and Melayna are a father and daughter duo who live about a mile down the road from me. Both of them have very unique names. Fitz knows that the suffix "roy" attached to any name is synonomous to "royalty", so he likes to be called "Fitzroyalty"! He enjoys helping other people, and he mentioned that he is "the cool Jamaican guy who is blessed of God!" His lovely daughter, Melayna, has a unique and beautiful name, as well. Because her mother was Italia
    Mathayus... ready for adventure!

    Mathayus... ready for adventure!

Today I picked us Mathayus and Elice (notice the unique spelling) for a short trip down Highway 41 as they were attempting to avoid the heat. Mathayus is number 7 of 7 children and has a Columbian/Italian heritage. He was named after his great grandfather, whose last name was Mathayus. Although he did not know a lot about his name I found that it is extremely rare. Since 2003 only 132 people in the United States has Mathayus as their first name. It means adventuresome, youthf
    Rycky

    Rycky

I picked up Rycky in Fort Myers at the home of JT Foxx, the famous wealth coach and entrepenuer. Rycky was working with a crew that was installing new granite floors. Immediately I noticed the unique spelling of his name. Apparently his mother and father, both from the Dominican Republic, speak no English. At his birth in Long Island, NY, she misspelled the name Ricky on the birth certificate and a "Rycky" was born! Thanks to his Mom and Dad, Rycky fluently speaks and writes
    Reco Jolly

    Reco Jolly

Mr. Reco Jolly was a recent Uber passenger. His name has an interesting origin, as his father, Bruce, had a reputation of being a fancy dresser and quite the "ladies man". His friends nicknamed him "Rico" from the popular Latin song, Rico Suave. Soon his eldest son, John, was nicknamed after his father, "Little Rico". My Uber passenger was the 9th of 11 children and was actually given the name "Reco" based on his father's legacy. Reco has a couple of children and his own son
