Uzziel is a friendly young man in his twenties who grew up in Puerto Rico but has lived in the United States for over ten years. He has spent time in Texas, but for the past two years, he has called Florida home. He enjoys the Florida weather because it reminds him of Puerto Rico—warm, sunny, and perfect for being outside. As a boy, Uzziel loved playing soccer, but after a few injuries, including a torn ACL, he had to stop playing competitively. Even so, he still enjoys watching the sport, especially his favorite team, Barcelona, which he supports because of his admiration for the famous player Lionel Messi. He also plays indoor soccer from time to time, though he has to be careful to avoid further injuries.

Sports aren’t Uzziel’s only interest. He also enjoys watching basketball and loves automobile racing. In particular, he’s a big fan of Honda cars. He knows a lot about them and enjoys doing his own repairs and upgrades. The day we met, our Uber trip was to an auto parts store, where Uzziel was picking up new head gaskets for his car. It’s clear he enjoys getting under the hood and working on engines, a hobby that takes patience, skill, and a love for the details.
The name Uzziel has a special meaning… God is my strength! It comes from the Bible and refers to a man who was a relative of Aaron and Moses, part of the priestly Levite tribe. That gives Uzziel’s name a sense of history and importance. It’s a name that connects him to strong traditions and values, and in meeting him, it was easy to see the kindness and respect he shows to others.
Today, Uzziel works in the marble and countertop fabrication business. It’s hands-on, detailed work, similar in many ways to his car hobby, where skill and precision are key. During our ride, he was polite, open, and easy to talk to. By the end of the trip, it was clear that Uzziel is not only hardworking and talented but also someone who enjoys life, stays connected to his roots, and takes pride in the things he does well. It was a pleasure to have him as a passenger.
Please welcome Uzziel to the Ubernamez website!
