Recently, I gave a ride to someone really special—her name is Luidmila (Lou-eed-mee-la). She’s originally from Cuba but moved to the United States just a year ago. Her name means warrior, and honestly, it fits her perfectly as she’s battled to reunite with her husband and make a new life in the USA.

She has two grown sons in their 20s and a husband who’s been living in the U.S. for the past eight years. Back in Cuba, she worked hard at a busy market for 15 years, and now she’s continuing that strong spirit working at our local Publix grocery store right here in Fort Myers.
Luidmila told me she’s not a big fan of Miami—too much noise and chaos for her taste. She prefers the peaceful vibe of Fort Myers, especially the cool, quiet evenings. That’s when she likes to take long walks. She also enjoys relaxing from time to time with a good book. You could just tell she enjoys the simple things in life. Even though she’s only lived here for a short time, it already feels like home to her.
The moment she stepped into my car, she lit it up with her big smile and joyful spirit. We talked and laughed, and it felt like I was giving a ride to an old friend. It was truly a pleasure to meet someone so kind, strong, and full of life. So today, I’m happy to officially welcome Luidmila to the Uber Namez website—Fort Myers is lucky to have her!
