"Lucky" Lucas... 15,000th Uber trip!
I have been driving Uber for over six years and there are certain milestones that pop up along the way. I had the pleasure of celebrating one of those milestones with Lucas, who had the good fortune to be my 15,000th Uber trip!
Lucas was born and raised here in Southwest Florida and currently lives in Cape Coral.
He was a North Fort Myers High School graduate and served in the United States Marine Corps for five years. Although he was trained as a helicopter mechanic, he served in a variety of rolls while in Afghanistan, along with other deployments. He completed his military career with the rank of sergeant.
Since returning to civilian life Lucas has worked in the arena of heating and air conditioning.
Recently, however, he has been studying diligently in preparation to launch a new and exciting career as a firefighter and EMT!
The day of our Uber trip he had actually been celebrating the completion of this program with friends in downtown Fort Myers!
The name Lucas has Italian origins and means "bringer of light". How appropriate for a man with an attitude of service, joyfulness and gratitude!
I was so pleased to share in his celebration with gifts and special items that had been prepared for him.
