Labrisha… “Rich” in Relationships!

On a rainy night in Fort Myers, I picked up Labrisha for a short ride near her home. She laughed when I asked about her name—she’s not sure where it came from, only that her aunt gave it to her.

Upon further research I discovered that Labrisha is a modern American name derived from the Latin name Lecretia, meaning “wealth” or “prosperity”. It further emerged from the African American community where the “La-“ prefix is added to classic names.

Labrisha is the first Uber passenger I’ve written about in several years! Hopefully, there will soon be more to come!

Labrisha is the proud mother of five children—four daughters and one son, all between 16 and 24 years of age—and a grandmother to seven! (How certain people retain their youthful glow, it’s hard to understand!) She works at a nursing home, helping with meals, and has been there for six years.

Labrisha loves music, but her real joy is being with family. That is her primary source of relational wealth and prosperity! It was a pleasure meeting her.
