When an Uber request popped up with the name Quasia, it immediately caught my attention. Names often carry stories, and this one certainly did. I soon learned that her full name is Jacquasia, and she is the twin sister of an older brother named Jacquez. She was born right in Lee County, Florida, but later moved with her mother to southern Alabama, not far from the Florida state line. There, she grew up and graduated from high school before deciding to move back to Southwest Florida, closer to her sisters and a warmer climate.

After returning to Florida, Jacquasia didn’t waste any time getting to work. She found a job at Walmart and has stayed there for six years, taking on several different roles and working diligently. Her current job is stocking shelves overnight, a position that requires hard work, focus, and dedication while most people are asleep. Even with the long hours, she carries herself with energy and kindness. She openly shared that she tries to be a good person, and it’s easy to believe—her joyful spirit makes people feel comfortable right away and she seems to get along well with her coworkers and everyone she meets!
Jacquasia talked about how thankful she is for her life. She often wears her purple “lucky” jacket with the word “Blessed” printed across it, and she truly lives by that message. She feels grateful for her family, her faith, and especially for her two-year-old son, Javonn. Though she appreciates the support of those around her, she also takes pride in standing strong and doing her best each day.
Looking ahead, Jacquasia has clear goals for the year. She hopes to get her own apartment and to buy a car, steps that would give her more independence and stability for herself and her son. Listening to her story, it’s easy to feel inspired by her positive attitude and determination. Jacquasia’s journey is a reminder that even ordinary rides can reveal extraordinary people, quietly working toward brighter futures.
It was such a pleasure to have Jacquasia as my passenger. Please welcome her to Ubernamez!
