Ja’Quez… A Diligent Dreamer

At Sam’s Club today, I met a young man named Ja’Quez. He’s 27 years old and has been working there for about four months. He was very friendly and helped me with a special purchase. As we were talking, I found out he used to play football at Fort Myers High School and even played one year at a small college called Warner. After that, he came back home and started working hard.

Ja’Quez has worked in many restaurants in the Fort Myers area because he loves to cook. Even though he’s not working as a chef now, cooking is still something he really enjoys. But one of his biggest passions is music. He was in choir during high school and still loves to sing. Now, he and a friend have started a small music studio, and they hope to grow it into a real business someday.

Jacquez is the kind of person who wants to do what’s right in life. He thinks about getting married one day and building a good future. We both laughed as we found a alot of common ground in our desire to make the most of our money. We both love finding great deals— at yard sales and thrift stores. I’m glad I met Ja’Quez… he really brought a smile to my face! He’s a hard worker with big dreams.

His name, Ja’Quez is a modern American name derived from the names Jacob (meaning supplanter…one who takes the place of another) or Jacques.

It’s a unique name with a Spanish flair!
