Delaine and Nutinhoney… Loving Life in Florida!

On the evening of St. Patrick’s Day, I picked up two sisters who had just finished working at a busy sports bar in Fort Myers. They were dressed head to toe in festive green, clearly ready to celebrate, but now just as ready to head home and relax. As we drove, we began talking, and I quickly realized their story—and their names—were worth remembering.

One of the sisters was named Delaine. While her name may sound somewhat familiar, I hadn’t seen it spelled that way before. She explained that she was named after a relative named Elaine, which gave her name a special family meaning. Delaine shared that one of her greatest joys in life is her family. She spoke warmly about how happy she is that her mother and brother have recently moved to Southwest Florida, and how she hopes even more family members will follow someday.

Her sister had a name story that was even more unusual. Not her first name, but her middle name—Nutinhoney. Yes, just like it sounds. She said it with a smile, clearly proud of how unique it is. Over time, many people have simply started calling her “Honey” for short. As a waitress, she enjoys making people smile, and her cheerful personality makes that come naturally.

Although the two sisters are often mistaken for twins, they are actually a couple of years apart. Both are mothers of teenage children and share a deep love for the outdoors. Whether it’s hiking, camping, or even rock climbing, they enjoy any activity that lets them be surrounded by nature. Their energy and love for life were easy to see, even in a short car ride.

Both women grew up in Louisville, Kentucky, but now call Southwest Florida home. It was a pleasure having them as passengers and hearing their stories. Encounters like this are what make driving so enjoyable. I’m grateful to have met them and happy to welcome both Delaine—and “Honey”—to the Uber Namez collection.
