Ciaran… A Ray of Sunshine!

Recently, I had a passenger with a name that I hadn’t seen before…Cairan, pronounced “Keer-en”. His family is extremely Irish and his name, Ciaran, is a Celtic name which means “little dark one”. With his dark hair, the name seems to fit perfectly. But he likes to think that he is more of a “ray of sunshine”. And, after chatting with him for several minutes, I’d have to agree!

He grew up in New Hampshire where music has always been a huge part of Ciaran’s life. His father was a classical guitar player, and that love for music passed down to him at a very young age. He began playing the cello, an instrument known for its rich and powerful sound, when he was six years old. Over the years, he practiced faithfully and played in symphonies and orchestras. He’s developed a deep appreciation for music and also plays guitar. Music continues to be one of his greatest passions and he is currently experimenting with electronic music hoping to create his own symphony!

Ciaran was visiting Fort Myers, Florida, for a friend’s wedding. What started as a simple trip turned into something special. At the last minute, he was asked to play the cello during the ceremony. Without hesitation, he stepped in, ready to use his gifts to serve others. I was actually dropping him off to prepare for the wedding!

Kieran is not only a musician—he’s also a lifelong learner. He graduated from Boston College and now lives in California, where he works in computer programming. On top of that, he loves languages and can speak both Spanish and German. He’s always eager to learn more, believing that life is full of opportunities to grow.

More than anything, Kieran wants people to stay curious about the world around them. He encourages others to put down their phones and computers and explore, learn, and try new things. He believes in becoming a “Renaissance man”—someone who develops many skills and interests. Whether through music, language, or learning something completely new. Ciaran’s life is a reminder that we were made to keep growing, discovering, and sharing our gifts with others.

It was my pleasure to meet Ciaran and experience his his joy and enthusiasm. Please welcome Ciaran to the Ubernamez website!
