Chrish… A New Beat in a New Land!

Recently, I picked up a passenger with a unique name that immediately caught my attention… Chrish, inspired by the word, Christian or the name, Christian Dior. Upon seeing me, she ran toward the car like a woman on a mission. She was excited to join some friends for a fun evening together!

Chrish was born in Cuba, but five years ago she moved to the United States with her father and younger sister. At first, everything felt strange: the language, the culture, even the weather. But Chrish worked hard, learned English, and slowly began to feel more at home in Florida.

Her father is extremely creative. He has generated an online income in the United States, and has built a business as a YouTube content creator and an online entrepreneur. Chrish admired how he turned creativity into income, and she has been learning from him while watching from behind the scenes. Even though she currently works at Wendy’s she is anxious for a change. Chrish is developing her own talents and demonstrating her own passion and creative flair.

Chrish loves music! She is creating her own tunes and even has her own online presence where she shares her creative work. Music gives her a voice that feels bigger than her current employment. A way of telling the world who she is becoming!

Florida is now home! She told me that Cuba was just “too tropical.” She loves the seasons that can be experienced in the United States—although she’s only experienced three of them so far. She still hasn’t seen snow. A potentially varied climate really does fascinate her!

Now Chrish is looking ahead, hoping for better job opportunities, more musical inspiration, and maybe one day a chance to stand in real falling snow. Until then, she keeps moving forward with enthusiasm, a quick step and dreams for success, joy and adventure in America!
