Mirlege... Running to Win!

Mirlege is a local gal, born and raised here in Fort Myers, Florida. From an early age she has been very active and athletic starting out in dance and eventually becoming a cheer leader. Entering high school she also realized that she very fast on her feet. She could run!

Mirlege was a standout sprinter at South Fort Myers High School and was the top female sprinter in Lee County. Her senior year she was a News-Press track athlete of the year finalist and she holds school records at 100 and 200 meters.

In the Florida State Class 3A competition she placed third in the 100 and fifth in the 200.

Now, her success was catching the attention of collegiate track coaches.

Mirlege's hard work and dedication paid off as she signed a National letter of Intent to compete for the Division I program at Middle Tennessee State University. She is currently in her junior year and is consistently posting personal best times in her sprinting events.

Mirlege is one of a few females students pursuing a degree in construction management at Middle Tennessee. But she loves the challenge, and is constantly pushing herself to do more and to be more.

She describes herself as a fun-loving, motivated leader. If you get to know Mirlege you will understand that she is extremely determined. In both track and in life, she is running to win!

The name Mirlege is extremely unique. As I searched the internet I found NO information about this name. What consistently came up were photos and articles about this young lady!

Although a search of Face Book did identify others named Mirlege, I could not find definitive information about it's origin or meaning.

There's no doubt that she is a special person!
