Quavo... One in a million!

Last week I had the privilege to meet a genuinely, wonderful human being...a young man named Quavo!

Although millennials, in general, don't have a great reputation in the areas of diligence, determination and sincerity, this young man kindled my hope for the future!

Quavo is originally from Miami. He's the second oldest of six children, and the son of parents who immigrated to the United States from Haiti when they were children.

He is a first generation American citizen!

Quavo did not know the origin or meaning of his name, but he knew it is extremely unique. As I searched for information on-line I read that "out of 5,838,786 records in the U.S. Social Security Administration public data, the first name Quavo was not present."

So...Quavo literally is a one in a million name!

Quavo attends Florida Southwestern State College and juggles two jobs; one at Little Ceasar's Pizzeria and another at a golfing community.

Throughout high school he was extremely active and had many interests. He was a student athlete who played multiple sports, but excelled in basketball.

Unlike other high school "jocks" Quavo was very involved in several school organizations including the "Key Club" (a community service group), the "Green Club" (active in environmental concerns) and, one of his favorites, the Chess Club! Because of his involvement, he was well liked by a wide variety of students. He was able to interact and build relationships with athletes, "gamers", nerds, "brainiacs", environmentalists, and just about everybody!

Quavo is a motivated, friendly "people person" who wants to make a difference in his world!

Because of his participation in sports he is planning to earn a degree in physical therapy. He'd like to help athletes (high school, college, or professional) rehabilitate from their injuries. But, he's not close minded. He'd be excited to assist anyone, including children and the elderly.

Quavo is an eager learner and has a desire for personal growth. With such a great attitude, I have no doubt that he will be successful in his future pursuits.

It is with great pleasure that I welcome Quavo to the Ubernamez blog!
